The Mountain is an extraordinary journey through clouds, flowers and forests under the umbrella of the Milky Way. Accompanied by the delightful piano music of Lucovido Enaudi.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know.
The Milky Way shines above the clouds at night, clouds roll up the mountainside, sunlight shines through the trees and across the landscape of El Teide.
Watching and listening to The Mountain creates a wonderfully calm space, and at just over 3 minutes duration can easily be enjoyed at any time of day.
El Teide is a volcano rising 3718m above Tenerife in the Canary Islands. It is Spain’s highest mountain and considered to be one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars.
The Mountain was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. A photographic record of a week spent on Mount Teide, by Terje Sørgjerd. More than 29,651 individual pictures were used to produce the final video.
The background music is “Nuvole Bianche” by Ludovico Einaudi – with permission.
Terje Sørgjerd (aka TSO Photography) is a landscape photographer from Norway.
TSO has been published many times in some of the world biggest press and media outlets including CNN, NBC, USA Today, Reuters, Discovery Channel, NatGeo, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, Weather Channel and The Washington Post. He is probably best known for his photographs of the Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajokull, which erupted in 2010.
Along with “The Mountain” TSO has also created “The Arctic Light”, “The Aurora” and “The Water” photographic time-lapse movies.
