A field recording from Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park, a 240 square kilometres protected area located in the Western Ghats of South India.
Many kinds of birds, insects and large animals add their distinctive sounds to create an exceptional forest soundscape.
The sheer variety of sounds in this field recording makes it not only very atmospheric but also highly entertaining to listen to. Insects fly by, cicadas chirp in the background while many kinds of bird calls are heard, close and far away. Sometimes there is the sound of larger animals pushing through the forest.
Some sounds are quite regular, others randomly come and go, but nothing is out of place.
The heat of the daytime forest, the green leaves, insects, birds and animals almost seem to crawl out of the speakers as you listen.
At over 30 minutes this is one of our longest soundscapes, and ideal for taking a half-hour rest-break or blocking out unwanted sounds while working.
